Scott Redmond of rescogs.com

Scottie is an old mate of mine and often plays the part of chief troublemaker in the playground.

This time, not only did he fan the kindling flames of the original idea when I got back from Spa in 2013, but provided me with the first substantial chunk of metal to get the project going.

Always there to poke his nose in, inspire, take the piss or just laud the results, not many bits of this build have escaped his notice or interest as it unfolded – to him, for all of this, allow me to simply say “thank you”

Take a look at his highly independent blog on all things motorcycling, unless you’re a fan of the Ace Cafe or riding bikes with excessive exhaust wrap around East London wearing Gentlemanly attire. rescogs.com

A&C Soda blasting

Rusty/dirty/flaky parts made good – premium soda blasting and etch priming all done with good grace and a smile – Carey, the master blaster is not only a bike man, he’s a top top bloke!

C&M Fabrications

Glynn at C&M did the frame bracing and the tank modifications on our Kat – his work is incredible – the quality is matched only by the fairness of the prices. A hill climb racer, Glynn should be on your go to list if you need anything in metal.

No website, but he does have a telephone! – Glynn – 01604 629097

Call before you go, they’ve just moved and the web is full of their old address!

Check out the many pictures of Glynn’s welding at the bottom of this blog post.

Allen’s Performance

If you need carburation, you need Allen’s. Brand new Keihin CR35’s supplied for our Katana from these bastions of all things carb related.

Steve from Allen’s is yet another supplier that races himself, which I think always makes the transaction happen with a little more understanding! Top fella!

MTS Classics

Proper Motorcycle restoration all done one roof, Steve Mann the boss is a star and never ceases to make me smile at how quick he delivers such quality work!

I’ve used him for blasting, aluminium welding, machining and paint.  A racer himself he “gets” what I’m after without fuss. Love that!

See his work on our swingarm in this piece.

Nick Pepper – Suzuki Performance Spares

Nick’s stockpile of go-faster used spares for the big GSX mill have been thoroughly raided for this engine, the big-valve unused EFE head, a welded crank and hi-flow oil gears are all in our engine. Knowledgable and helpful, another contributor that has made this project viable.

All Bike Engineering

ABE make bundles of new parts for disks, forks and shocks and were on my go-to list when I wanted to start changing the forks. A great little company, flying in the face of the notion that we “don’t make anything in Britain any more”.

Projection Components

Projection Components offer a growing range of stuff from suspension tie-bars to disc spacers and titanium fasteners. One off bits also taken care of, and on this project, our caliper adapters are theirs.

Coyote Moto

Crash protection is something we’ll be working on together, custom lockstops turned up from acetal engineering plastic is something we’ve already banked.

Jay the owner is another racer that “gets” the project 100% and am glad to have onside!

Gibson Exhausts

Gibsons classic handmade race exhausts are gorgeous, I am negotiating the possibility of a link pipe to join our Yoshi headers to our Yoshi Can (reason we need this is that the mounting point has  moved) If I can’t get my Yoshi can to work with the new mounting point, then it’ll be a Gibson I stick on it.
